Highlights from the WWE 2K23 trailer The Showcase Mode of John Cena

During Monday Night Raw, 2K and Visual Concepts debut a new WWE 2K23 trailer that delves deeper into John Cena's Showcase.

Fans can see gameplay in the new WWE 2K23 trailer as they watch John Cena compete in the 2K Showcase mode against opponents like RVD, Batista, and The Undertaker. John Cena was confirmed as the cover star of WWE 2K23 in a live-action trailer that debuted early on January 23. Another one was shown during Monday Night Raw the following evening, January 23.

The 2K Showcase will have a new twist this year in addition to general gameplay improvements, enhancements to WWE 2K23's MyGM mode, and new game modes like WarGames. The 2K Showcase highlights a superstar's career, with some of Rey Mysterio's most memorable matches being featured last year, but this usually involves playing as that wrestler. Players will take on the roles of John Cena's opponents during his showcase in order to emphasize his motto of "Never Give Up."

The WWE 2K23 trailer confirms a few additional roster members in addition to offering a few glimpses at the new gameplay. These playable characters are probably intended for use in other contexts as well, but they also represent some of the players who will be participating in Showcase Mode. In addition to Batista, Kurt Angle, Rob Van Dam (RVD), The Undertaker, and The Rock, there are probably still a few others. There are many other rivalries that the match could feature, though they have not yet been confirmed, such as John Cena vs. Edge, John Cena vs. Randy Orton, and/or John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar.

Additionally, fans should be aware that John Cena will be narrating the 2K Showcase, offering a good opportunity to learn about some of his most important WWE rivalries. Cena stated, "It is a pleasure to tell the story of my career through the WWE 2K23 Showcase," in reference to his part in WWE 2K23. I'm honored to appear on the cover of WWE 2K23 because 2K did a fantastic job of capturing and revitalizing the WWE 2K franchise.

WWE 2K23's early reception appears to be positive overall, and in the coming weeks, players can probably expect to learn more about the 2K Showcase and other game features. With a March 17 release date (though the Deluxe and Icon editions can get it on March 14), WWE 2K23's marketing already has a small window of time. However, the enhancements mentioned thus far along with John Cena's popularity ought to be advantageous for the new game.

WWE 2K23 releases on March 17 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
