Skyrim Fan 3D Prints the Entire Dragon Priest Armor Set

An Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim fan reports that they are 3D printing an entire set of the Dragon Priest armor from the game.

As one of their most recent projects, a fan of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim 3D printed a complete set of Dragon Priest armor. Other fans of the action RPG are probably eager to see the artist finish the entire look because Dragon Priests are reputed to be one of the more difficult enemies in Skyrim.

It appears that many action RPG fans have recently developed a taste for creating actual-life replicas of in-game gear. It is not surprising that players would want to use the weapons, armor, and other small items they can interact with in Skyrim outside of the game. Some fans have already created actual weapons out of common materials like wood and metal. Others, like this fan, use digital modeling and 3D printing to create incredibly accurate and detailed pieces of Skyrim equipment.

They began working on the Skyrim Dragon Priest armor after creating a real-world equivalent of the game's Staff of Magnus, claims Reddit user lpickamyl. They posted a picture of their development using the armor set in the hopes of creating something "a little bigger." A number of golden armor pieces can be seen laid out in the image, including the recognizable mask that gamers receive as a drop after defeating a Dragon Priest in the game. It took months of design modeling, revisions, and printing, according to the Redditor, before the set was ready for assembly.

In the Reddit thread, other Skyrim fans appeared to be in awe of lpickamyl's 3D-printed creations. One even mentioned Jonah Lobe, the man behind the Skyrim Dragon Priest characters, on Reddit. Lobe replied to the thread and said they had "waited their entire life for this moment." Others express hope that the artist will begin 3D printing projects for other items from Skyrim, like the Dwarven Centurion or Dwarven Spider. Fans expressed excitement to see the entire armor set worn as cosplay.

The action RPG's community has shown lpickamyl a great deal of support and encouragement, so it is likely that they will keep working on 3D printing game-related items. Fans of Skyrim will probably be interested in seeing how they are doing with their creative process, so hopefully they continue to post updates online.

Skyrim is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
