The most popular game in franchise history could be FIFA 23

EA's soccer franchise is as well-liked as ever, and the publisher even predicted that FIFA 23 might surpass previous installments in terms of sales.

According to EA, FIFA 23 was on track to become the best-selling game in the franchise's history, with North American sales increasing by as much as 50% year over year. The most recent installment of the well-known soccer video game series, FIFA 23, may mark the series' triumphant conclusion.

Since 1993, EA has released a new FIFA game every year, allowing players to kick the ball with their favorite soccer players from around the globe. FIFA outsold its rivals and established itself as a standard for soccer fans, holding the record for the most successful sports game franchise ever. FIFA 23, the series' thirty-first installment, added fresh features for players to enjoy their soccer games even more, including the AcceleRATE system, Power Shots, and FUT Moments.

FIFA 23 was "pacing to be the biggest title in franchise history," according to EA CEO Andrew Wilson, who also noted that bookings from the FIFA franchise had increased by 4% in a year. Sales of FIFA 23 increased by 50% year over year in North America, where this growth is even more pronounced. FIFA 23 was one of the most popular video games worldwide at the end of 2022, with strong sales in the US.

A lot of players accessed FIFA 23 between its release in September 2022 and the end of the year, according to Wilson, who stated that it "delivered record engagement in Q3." The deal between EA and FIFA expired on December 31, 2022, so even though FIFA 23 might end up being the game with the highest sales in the franchise's history, it will also be the final game to bear this name. For its upcoming games, EA will no longer be permitted to use the name of the organization that oversees soccer, and the franchise has been renamed to EA Sports FC.
