Kim Novak
Kim Novak was hired by Columbia Pictures in the 1940s to replace Rita Hayworth, whose popularity was declining at the time. They were also hoping Novak could bring the same level of success to rival studio 20th Century Fox that Marilyn Monroe was bringing to her. Her breakthrough came in 1958, when she starred in Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo. She mainly retired from acting in 1966.
