Following popular demand, Resident Evil Village DLC is in the works

Resident Evil RE: Verse online multiplayer will also be available next month.

Resident Evil Village will receive downloadable content, according to Capcom. The announcement came at an E3 2021 Showcase that was devoid of fresh developments. During the webcast, a brief message indicated that DLC had begun production “due to popular demand.”

While no other information was provided, the inference is that we may be seeing additional material involving the game's most popular character, Lady Dumitrescu. Another possibility is the return of fan-favorite Ada Wong, who was initially scheduled to appear in Resident Evil Village, as indicated by early concept art obtained in the game. However, it may be some time before this further DLC is released, given there seemed to have been no plans prior to the game's debut, whereas Resident Evil 7 already had a season pass scheduled for launch.

Unfortunately, nothing was mentioned regarding the planned Resident Evil Village DLC other than the fact that it's being developed owing to popular demand, so we can only conjecture about what it may entail. I won't give anything away about the ending of Resident Evil Village, but if you've played it, you'll know there's a lot more narrative to tell.

It was also revealed that the online multiplayer game Resident Evil RE: Verse would be released next month and will be available for free to everyone who has purchased Resident Evil Village.

The publisher previously stated that it will focus on improvements to Resident Evil Village, Monster Hunter Rise, Monster Hunter Stories 2, and The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles ahead of the Capcom E3 2021 Showcase. And, according to its promises, we got just that.

Nevertheless, it gave another emotionally powerful tale trailer for Monster Hunter Stories 2, as well as confirmation that a free trial demo will be available on June 25th. When the complete game launches on July 9th, players will be able to carry over their save progress.
