Knockout City's PvP Gameplay is Intense and Surprisingly Complex.

Knockout City is a new PvP game that turns dodgeball into a fiercely competitive sport, stunning both players and reviewers.

Knockout City, a new competitive title with a groovy soundtrack, has launched in digital marketplaces. The game takes the time-honored playground game of dodgeball and tries to produce a PvP experience that can compete with industry heavyweights. Can a dodgeball game entice players away from games like Valorant or Fortnite?

Knockout City has received positive reviews from reviewers so far. The game has garnered generally favorable reviews, with critics enjoying Knockout City's gameplay. They've particularly loved the game's learning curve and subtle levels of intricacy.

PC Gamer-Morgan Park: "EA's choice to offer a 10-day free trial period was also wise, as the game has already drawn over two million players." The game costs $20 to purchase or is free if you have a Game Pass subscription on console or PC, which is how I'll be playing for months. Other than CS: GO and Valorant, I can't think of any PvP game that has taken such attention with its sound effects. I'm hoping that a sizable portion of those two million people remain around since Knockout City is fantastic. I'm constantly astonished by how much thought has gone into transforming a playground hobby mostly overlooked by video games into a fascinating competitive adventure. There's nothing else like it, which is why you should try it for free while you can."

Owen S. Good from Polygon: "It's great to see a game that emphasizes cooperative play straight away, especially among individuals I don't communicate with via voice chat." It's even more astonishing that this occurs in a sport whose basics and tactics are virtually unknown to the general public. Credit a well-balanced design from Velan Studios, whose developers have created a game that doesn't only recommend that people work together — it really makes it simpler."

CJ Andriessen from Destructoid:  "If you don't remember Rocket Arena, an online multiplayer competitive shooter from developer Final Strike Games, I don't blame you; it vanished from the gaming radar faster than its price dropped in stores. When Knockout City was first revealed earlier this year, I was pretty pompous in my assurance that it would suffer the same fate. It didn't seem like it would be a topic of conversation once it was released. But now that I've played it with over two million other people, I don't think that'll be the case. This one has a lot of staying power in my opinion. Knockout City surprised me with how wonderfully it came out. It's without a doubt the biggest surprise of 2021, and it's something everyone should try while it's still free."

Jarrett Green from IGN: "Knockout City isn't like the dodgeball you used to play as a kid. It's an aggressive team-based multiplayer take on the grade school sport that mixes basic, easy-to-learn controls with unexpectedly intricate tactics and techniques that may surprise you for a game with a Saturday morning cartoon image. Its clean, thrilling gameplay and multiplayer duels provide all of the highs of gym class sports without the stinky uniforms or the stress of being selected last. Knockout City is one of the best team-based PvP games to come out in years...Thanks to the clever balance between throws and catches, exciting special balls, and well-designed maps to brawl through, every match has the potential to be a dynamic "combat" experience that even the most hard-boiled shooter fan can appreciate."

Alessandro Barbosa from Gamespot: "Knockout City's greatest strengths lie not only in its simplicity but also in the ways it remixes classical multiplayer elements to create something unique." "Knockout City's easy-going nature and straightforward mechanics reduce the time it takes to feel invested in each match, but it's the subtle complexity beneath that keeps the action engaging and compelling over long play sessions." With the game's rotating match styles and some of its unusual ball kinds, there's always space for growth, but Knockout City nails the fundamentals to create multiplayer excitement that will likely keep you hooked for a long time."

PJ O'Reilly from Nintendo Life: "If you're the kind of player who avoids online competitive play because of the numerous fatalities, steep learning curves, long match lengths, or intricate meta of many of today's most popular squad-based offers, this colorful and airy attempt could be worth dipping your toes into." It's as easy as picking up a dodgeball and throwing it to get started, achieve some success, and, most importantly, have fun in Knockout City. It's evident that Velan Studios, the creators of Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, thought long and hard about how to make this one accessible on a fundamental level, and their choices have paid off handsomely."
