Because it is based on the blockbuster film franchise of the same name, Eidos Montreal's forthcoming Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy has a lot going for it. To capitalize on the star-studded Guardians of the Galaxy excitement, Square Enix has created a series of movie-style posters that showcase the updated appearances of the game's recognizable characters.
Given the first reaction to Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy at Square Enix's E3 presentation, publisher and developer Eidos Montreal will have to sort through some conflicting sentiments from fans. With that in mind, these new images might go a long way toward bringing the visual beauty of the next title to the attention of fans of past Marvel games and films.
These new posters depict each of the Guardians holding one of their trademark weapons, ready to fight the extraterrestrial creatures and villains that players will encounter throughout the games. It also provides a closer look at the new forms of these Guardians of the Galaxy characters, which might be a smart move to familiarize gamers with their new looks.
Examining the posters without the comparisons in mind reveals the amount of attention to detail that Eidos Montreal put into bringing the comic book versions of these characters to life.

Supporters have already been flocking to some of these photos, with the new rendition of Groot garnering the most community attention. This is most likely owing to his entire transformation for the game over the version of Groot from the MCU's Guardians of the Galaxy, which adds a lot more personality to an already popular character. The same can probably be said of the other characters, with each of these close-up looks at the designs putting the best foot forward for the next release.

Based on what Eidos Montreal has revealed so far of Guardians of the Galaxy, it looks like the developer intends to take the greatest elements of Marvel's Avengers and turn them into a single-player experience. That includes the stunning visuals that have already brought fan-favorite characters to life in a way that puts the player in command of Marvel's most powerful characters.
For however, this means that the Marvel game franchise's success may hinge on getting fans excited about the Guardians of the Galaxy, which might lead to a sustained focus on characters and aesthetics in the build-up to the film's release.
On October 26, 2021, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy will be released on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
