Specialists will have their own distinct Specialist Trait and Specialty, as well as fully adjustable loadouts, and will be inspired by the classic four Battlefield classes. On the first day of launch, Battlefield will include ten specialists.
Webster Mackay, a grappling hook user, Wikus ‘Caspter' Van Daele, a recon drone user, and Pyotr ‘Boris' Guskovsky, a sentry gun user, are among the specialists shown in DICE's latest trailer.
According to reports, the Battlefield 2042 beta will be released on September 22.

According to both credible leaker Tom Henderson and GamesBeat journalist Jeff Grubb, this is the case. Grubb revealed this week on a Giant Bomb broadcast (paywall) that he had confirmed Henderson's date with his own sources.
Electronic Arts have previously stated that the open beta for Battlefield 2042 will begin in September but has yet to provide an exact date. Early access to the open beta will be granted to EA Play users and customers who pre-order any edition of the game.
Battlefield 2042 will be released on October 22, 2021, with a basic edition costing $59.99 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC, and $69.99 on Xbox Series X/S and PS5.
Players who pre-order the Battlefield 2042 Gold Edition ($89.99 on PC, $99.99 on consoles) or the Battlefield 2042 Ultimate Edition ($109.99 on PC, $119.99 on platforms) will get early access to the game on October 15.
