Many speculations about Konami's probable spectacular comeback to the gaming business have surfaced recently. Some of the company's acclaimed franchises, such as Castlevania and Silent Hill, may be revived. Other old titles on the company's catalog include Gradius and Ganbare Goemon, which are classic action space shooters. Konami has announced an independent game contest, inviting developers to compete and build games based on some of these iconic franchises as part of a new effort.

This contest is sponsored by Shueisha Inc., a major manga publisher, as part of its Shueisha Game Creators Camp. This is a project aimed at assisting independent game developers in discovering and promoting their discovered abilities, as well as collaborating with other creators to create unique games. Shueisha also provides access to additional independent talent, including programmers, voice actors, game designers, and illustrators, to these creators. The two firms are conducting an "Action & Shooting Game Contest" thanks to Konami's support.

Indie game developers are invited to build games based on any of Konami's previous action or shooter titles. As long as it's from one of Konami's famous franchises, any of these games can produce a remake, sequel, or even a totally new game centered on a single character or mechanic. Even genres that weren't included in the original games can be tweaked or blended according to the guidelines.

Indie developers may employ 80 different titles from Konami's catalog, including famous Konami franchises like Gradius, Knightmare, Goemon, and Star Soldier. A complete list of games that may be utilized as a starting point can be found at the bottom of the entry page. A cash reward, trophies, and an opportunity for these games to become official and sold by Konami are among the prizes for this contest. The business will also provide funding, supervision, and production guidance, as well as promotion and localization help, for this award-winning independent game.

Due to recent speculations that Konami is seeking to concentrate its efforts and produce new games for properties like Silent Hill and Metal Gear Solid, this is a bold and suitable time for the business. By enabling creators to help them re-emerge in smaller size games, this challenge allows some of the company's most dormant properties to resurface.

The Konami Action & Shooting Game Contest will continue through January 6, 2022.
