Skyrim has managed to survive many console generations, making its way onto a variety of various systems since its initial release in 2011. This contains a Skyrim special edition for Amazon Alexa. Almost every new version of Skyrim has managed to improve on previous versions in terms of mechanics and in-game material, but the 10th-anniversary edition includes something really unique to Skyrim.

Early Access Trailer for Darkest Dungeon 2 Reveals 3D Graphics

Bethesda revealed on Twitter that players will be able to personalize their in-game manors with aquariums as part of the Hearthfire DLC. In addition to fish tanks, gamers will be able to show off their catch by mounting it on the wall. This concept appears to be comparable to how gamers mounted weapons on the walls using weapon plaques.

In some ways, Bethesda's inclusion of a new cosmetic option like this makes perfect sense. Given the recent update that allows players to fish in-game, it stands to reason that the 10th-anniversary edition would include a way to display whatever players catch. The Hearthfire DLC previously allows players to showcase mounted animal heads and other trophies, but having the same applied to fishing should be just as entertaining.

In any event, it's incredible to see how long Skyrim has managed to sustain its appeal. Skyrim, like Grand Theft Auto 5, has made its way onto two successive system generations after first appearing on consoles such as the Xbox 360 and PS3. Only a few other games have succeeded in remaining relevant in the gaming world for that long.

It will be fascinating to see what the future holds for The Elder Scrolls series. While The Elder Scrolls 6 was confirmed to be in development, there has been little to no additional information about the game's progress. With luck, Bethesda will have sufficient content to show fans when the time comes, but this will most likely take a lot longer.
