Motion Twin, the creator of Dead Cells, unveiled the final guest to join the "Everyone is Here" update on Twitter, showcasing a small clip of our favorite possessed corpse brandishing the Hollow Knight's iconic sword.
Famous weapons and abilities from prominent independent games will be included in this crossover. The free update will include Blasphemous, Skul: The Hero Slayer, Guacamelee, Hyper Light Drifter, Curse Of The Dead Gods, and, of course, Hollow Knight. In terms of abilities, the player will be able to turn into a chicken, and Blasphemous will introduce a reviving bile flask to the game.
You nailed it, Hollow Knight is our last guest! The Knight is a bit too shy to show his face. However he was still nice enough to let us use his weapon! And how cool is it to pogo on enemies?Free Update 26: "Everyone is here!" will bounce this Monday! #deadcells #HollowKnight pic.twitter.com/78BZWHIvf4— Motion Twin (@motiontwin) November 19, 2021
Hollow Knight is the final crossover revealed for the update, as previously announced. Hollow Knight is a Metroidvania action game similar to Dead Cells, however, the latter lacks the roguelike aspects of the former and is more of a standard action platformer. Many people expected Hollow Knight to be included in the "Everyone is Here" update because of its unique visual design and interesting combat. Though the Knight himself is "too bashful" to appear in Dead Cells, his sword will be usable, and players will be able to beat adversaries by stomping on their heads, a technique known as pogoing.
Although having all of these indie legends in one free download is a wonderful gift, the release of this update raises some issues, particularly about future sequels to both Hollow Knight and Dead Cells. Hollow Knight: Silksong is the intended title for the sequel to Hollow Knight, though we don't yet know when it will be released, with the most recent rumor being that it won't be shown off at this year's E3. The possibility of a Dead Cells sequel is shrouded in even more darkness.
