The multiplayer beta for Halo Infinite has been open for a week, and fans have already provided 343 Industries with a lot of feedback to help enhance the game. The lack of readily attainable armor parts in Halo Infinite has been a long-standing issue, and a recent leak reveals that the Campaign would not bring the salvation many had hoped for.

Halo Infinite has gotten a lot of good press, but it's also gotten a lot of bad press. The poor battle pass progression in Halo Infinite was a prominent complaint from the start, with players able to play dozens of battles and only rank up a few times. 343 Industries swiftly provided updates that basically restored players' ability to gain XP per match, with promises of more advanced modifications in the future. But, there are still complaints about the Halo Infinite battle pass, with its tiers of single armor components not being worth it, highlighting a potentially more urgent issue: the absence of free customization choices.

The Campaign unlockables in Halo Infinite have been discovered by a leaker, and they look to be devoid of any armor components. Chaz The Jackal shared a list of all the aesthetic things that can be unlocked through completing Halo Infinite's Campaign, which covers everything but new armor pieces—weapon and vehicle skins, armor coatings, insignia, and stances are all included. There are reportedly nine new armor coatings, four new emblems, and one new stance in terms of armor cosmetics. Although most of Halo Infinite's armor customization leaked before the Beta's commencement, it's unclear how many of these items are unlocked or how Chaz The Jackal obtained this knowledge.

In Halo Infinite, there are currently only three ways to obtain additional armor components. The first is the battle pass, which features over 100 tiers of new cosmetic items and never expires, however, players will have to pay $10 to start progressing on it. Then there are the free events in Halo Infinite, like the upcoming Fracture: Tenrai, which are effectively mini battle passes with exclusive cosmetics for players to obtain. Finally, there's the shop, which features daily rotations of new armor and skins that can only be obtained by paying real money for Halo Credits.

The newer multiplayer concept of battle passes and item stores has arrived in Halo, and Halo Infinite's current status is the result of that, for better or worse. It was only a matter of time until Halo followed in the footsteps of games like Fortnite and Call of Duty: Warzone, which enable players to purchase numerous skins for their characters. Many Halo fans are enraged by this because customization has historically been a fundamental aspect of the game's multiplayer experience, and 343 Industries' decision to lock so much of it behind a barrier feels condescending to the fans. Now that the game's campaign hasn't produced any new armor, players may have little choice but to go for their cash.
