It has been revealed that the Matrix Awakens product leaked last week is an Unreal Engine 5 tech demo for PlayStation 5. It's currently available for pre-download ahead of a big reveal on December 9 at the Game Awards 2021. 

The product description says, "Get ready for a glimpse into the future of interactive storytelling and entertainment with UE5 in this free, boundary-pushing cinematic and real-time tech demo."

The Matrix: Reloaded, the fourth installment in the franchise, will be released in theaters later this month. The Matrix Resurrections is the sequel to Wachowski's 2003 film The Matrix Revolutions.

Enter The Matrix (2003), The Matrix: Path of Neo (2005), and The Matrix Online are just a few of the official Matrix video games that have been created (2005).

Geoff Keighley, the founder of the Game Awards, expects 40-50 games to be on display in some form or another at this year's event, with new titles expected to number in the double digits.
