According to Metacritic, these are the worst games of 2021. GTA Trilogy and eFootball are among the worst-reviewed games of 2021.

This was the finest of games and the worst of games at the same time. While there were many wonderful games to play this year, there were also those that were so poor that they only added to the misery. Let's see what we can find at the bottom of the Metacritic barrel.

It's OK to like a video game, to use a phrase from one of my favorite movie podcasts. It doesn't mean you can't enjoy these games just because at least seven publications deemed worthy of notice by a popular review aggregation website deemed them terrible. It simply means that your friends and family will despise you, that you will never find love, and that you will die alone if you do.

The 10 worst games of 2021 have been identified by Metacritic, a review aggregation site, based on weighted average review scores from its recognized critics.

The Top 10 worst-reviewed games of 2021

10. I Saw Black Clouds | Score: 48 (PS4)

Kristina returns to her hometown in search of answers after the untimely death of a close friend, only to uncover a series of terrible mysteries. I Saw Black Clouds is a branching storyline interactive psychological thriller with supernatural themes.

In the end, your enjoyment of I Saw Black Clouds will be determined by your tolerance for schlocky horror and low-budget psychological thrillers. It's a fun diversion, but depending on how you play the game, the tale may leave you disappointed, and there's nothing here that you haven't seen in a dozen straight-to-DVD flops starring Stephen Baldwin or Tara Reid.

9. Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition | Score: 47 (Nintendo Switch).

The Nintendo Switch version of GTA Trilogy has the same issues as the other versions, ranging from an unstable frame rate to noticeable popping or blurrier graphics when playing on the dock, but it's still three great adventures like a pine tree, with minor improvements, that are highly enjoyable in portable mode.

Whenever you think each game in the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy to look and play like GTA V, you'll be disappointed by the lackluster upscaling attempt. On the other hand, if you want to relive these open-world marvels with some of the rougher gameplay edges sanded down, expect to be lost for sixty hours or more.

8 & 7. Balan Wonderworld | Score: (Xbox series X- 47, PS4 - 44).

Balan Wonderworld is a platformer action game set at the Balan Theatre. The show's leads Emma and Leo will use extraordinary skills from a variety of characterful costumes as they adventure in the odd and imagined Wonderworld, led by the enigmatic maestro Balan. Memories and views from the real world are mixed up with sentimental items. In the Wonderworld, our heroes will encounter twelve different stories, each with its own set of peculiarities. To reach to the center of each story, they will explore every corner of these labyrinthine stages, which are filled with a variety of twists and traps.

Balan Wonderworld is a game of opportunities squandered. Its simple control mechanism takes away any of the genre's nuanced intricacy, its many ideas are at best half-baked, and its fundamental gameplay is a grueling uphill journey through even the most basic of platforming principles. Aside from the amusing graphic design, Balan Wonderworld is only good at being persistently boring.

6. Of Bird And Cage | Score: 44 (Pc).

Of Bird and Cage is a one-of-a-kind metal record that is presented as a two-hour story-driven game. Play music in a completely different way. Featuring Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal (ex-Guns N' Roses), Rob van der Loo (Epica), Ruud Jolie (Within Temptation), and more!

Of Bird and Cage is a bad game, and I can only imagine a limited group of individuals who would enjoy it: aficionados of progressive rock who adore soapy narrative-driven games and are willing to overlook flaws in the presentation. Anyone else should avoid playing the game, even though it is just two hours long. The developers are attempting an ambitious blend, and for that, they should be commended. To be a success, though, it will require a significant increase in investment in cohesive gameplay and a compelling story. If you like the artists involved, get the soundtrack for Of Bird and Cage because the game does not work as a video game.

5. Taxi Chaos | Score: 42 ( PS4).

Taxi Chaos is a casual arcade racing game in which you choose from a variety of unlockable taxis, each with its own set of characteristics: a powerful muscle car, a superfast exotic supercar, a corner-drifting Japanese tuner, a 1960s American classic, and more. Your goal is to try to earn enormous cab fares by picking up as many passengers as can and dropping them off at their destinations as quickly as possible before time runs out! However, be aware that the majority of consumers are slightly insane.

Is Taxi Chaos going to take you by surprise? Of course not, but it's a good start. You won't like the soundtrack, the graphics won't blow you away, and the controls are as basic as they get. However, blasting through New Yellow City while picking up passengers and dropping them off at their chosen destinations is entertaining, and learning the ins and outs of the game's map in pro mode is very rewarding for those who master it. Therefore, whether you're looking for a way to scratch that Crazy Taxi itch, Taxi Chaos might be for you.

4. Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood | Score: 42 (PS4).

Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood is inspired by the popular role-playing game, this is a one-of-a-kind adventure packed with ferocious battles and mysterious adventures. Cahal, a powerful Garou who chose exile after losing control of his terrible anger, is who you are. Cahal plays a critical role in the epic fight between the Garous and Endron, a strong oil business that supports the Wyrm, whose destruction is devastating the earth, on his quest for forgiveness and blood.

He has the ability to turn into a wolf and a Crinos, a massive, vicious beast. Each shape has advantages: the wolf can slip around unobserved, Cahal as a human can connect with others, and the Werewolf can tear adversaries apart with his anger.

Earthblood is a bland and terrible sequel to Werewolf: The Apocalypse. The World of Darkness has a lot of potentials, but Cyanide wastes it with an out-of-date action-adventure game.

3-2. Balan Wonderworld | Score: (Pc-38, Nintendo Switch-36).

Balan Wonderworld is a fantastic action-platformer set in a mysterious musical theater. As they journey in the odd and imaginative Wonderworld, the show's heroes will deploy extraordinary skills from a variety of characterful costumes. Memories and views from the real world are mixed up with sentimental items. In Wonderworld, our heroes will encounter twelve different stories, each with its own set of peculiarities. To get to the center of each emotional story, they'll explore every nook and cranny of these labyrinthine stages, employing all of the traps and gimmicks buried along the way.

For me, there is no standing ovation – not even a clap – for Balan Wonderworld. In fact, get your tomatoes ready for this musical theatrical disaster, for as much as I wanted to like Balan Wonderworld (and believe me, I did), this game earns a lot of boos from me. There's little to suggest here, with simple platforming, the lack of a jump button, and a definite lack of challenge.

1. eFootball 2022 | Score: 25 (PC).

"PES" to "eFootball 2022" It all started with an unwavering ambition to build a game-changing soccer platform. From the grass on the field to the players' movements to the fans in the stadium, our goal was to reproduce the ideal soccer setting. As a result, we decided to construct a new soccer engine with a brand-new animation system and redesigned game controls.

eFootball 2022 is a horrible videogame as well as a bad football game. Konami took the better part of the decade to transform Pro Evolution Soccer from a poor football game to something respectable, and the same cannot be said for eFootball 2022. Playing it took away all of the fun from football, and I can't help but think it would have been better off as a digital pachinko game.

There you have it: the worst-reviewed games on Metacritic in 2021. Were any of them your favorites? Were you under the impression that the Werewolf one was just a little silly fun? I'm looking for a companion. Please reply in the comments section.
