If you have allergies, you don't hear much about them, yet they can be fatal if people aren't well educated about them. Food allergies alone increased by 50% in US children between 1997 and 2011, with symptoms ranging from a runny nose to lethal anaphylaxis. Though allergies were previously criticized or scorned, celebrities are now speaking out about their personal experiences with allergies—from nuts to hair products—and trying to normalize the issue and educate the public. Due to an allergic reaction to tomatoes, the singer had to cancel some tour dates in May 2019. The singer tweeted to explain the situation. "I had a bad allergic reaction to tomatoes, and my throat was very much closed," she explained," and she described it as "swallowing a cactus." She also discovered that she is sensitive to bananas in 2012.

Kim Kardashian realized her allergies on her TV show after visiting a Florida allergy clinic and discovering she's allergic to cats, causing her to give up her teacup Persian kitten, a gift from then-boyfriend Kanye West.
Kim went to an allergy clinic in Florida in an episode of her family's reality show, when she discovered that her body couldn't handle felines. She had a kitten named Mercy at the time, and the revelation meant she had to find a new home for her little pet. Unfortunately, Mercy died, and Kim hasn't tried to get another cat because of her allergies. It is estimated that up to 25% of the population is allergic to cats.

Kerry Washington was continuously monitoring what she eats due to "fatal food allergies," and she always with an anti-allergy injection in her handbag.
The actress did not make it clear what she is allergic to, but she has stated that she always takes an EpiPen with her because she has a number of potentially severe food allergies.
