Battlefield 2042 is no longer in the top 50'most played' games on Xbox. The launch of EA's Shooter was problematic, and for that reason game's popularity dropped.

Battlefield 2042 has fallen from the list of Xbox's "50 most played games' less than two months after its release.

According to ResetEra user Theorry, EA's latest shooter is no longer included in the Microsoft Store's list of the 50 most played Xbox games in the United States.

It doesn't fare much better in the UK, where it ranks 44th, which is rather low for a Battlefield game.

Battlefield 2042 was released less than two months ago, The game is now less popular than For Honor, Marvel's Avengers, and Star Wars Battlefront. Also, sequels to games like FIFA 21 and Forza Horizon 4 appear higher on the UK list than Battlefield 2042.

Battlefield 2042 was released in November 2021 to what can only be described as a lukewarm reception. The game became the worst-reviewed game on steam, Many of the reviews are negative. The reasons for the worst review were the lack of a leaderboard, empty maps, and issues with in-game vehicles that annoyed the player base.

According to Steam Charts, the PC version has also been steadily losing players. The game's all-time peak concurrent players are 100,590, but it only managed 19,161 peaks in the last 30 days.

Earlier this week, it was reported that EA is considering making some of Battlefield 2042's Portal mode free-to-play in a bid to rescue the situation.

This Portal, developed by Ripple Effect Studios (formerly DICE LA) and marketed as a "love letter to Battlefield fans," allows players to create their own match experiences by combining maps and aspects from prior series entries with Battlefield 2042.

These situations can be shared with the community via a web-based platform available to both console and PC users. During its third-quarter earnings call on February 1, EA is expected to be grilled by analysts regarding Battlefield 2042's performance and roadmap.

CEO Andrew Wilson previewed the launch of "free to enter components" for the Battlefield series during the company's first-quarter earnings call last August.
