The Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker combat balance patch 6.0.8 makes significant changes to the damage output of various classes in the game.

Following the release of Endwalker, Final Fantasy 14 has earned both popular and generally positive reviews. Between the content drought and streamer flight from World of Warcraft, as well as the current issues in New World, Square Enix's MMO has firmly placed itself at the top of the industry, with several new players finding homes in the realms of Eorzea and beyond.

Final Fantasy 14's creators published patch 6.0.8 to the globe on Tuesday, releasing the Oceania datacenter and introducing significant numerical improvements to the classes (jobs) in the game that needed it the most. Maybe the most impressive part of the team's attempt to resolve the balancing concerns in Endwalker's endgame is bringing the underperforming occupations up to par with the meta's current stars.

Warriors have been an incredible powerhouse at the tanking role in Final Fantasy 14, capable of self-sustaining themselves through feats of healing to the point of becoming the topic of countless memes in the community, as those familiar with the current meta of Final Fantasy 14 would remember. Endwalker has seen the advent of Reapers and Monks as the new kings and queens of maiming and striking down Etheirys' numerous bosses, replacing the beloved Samurai as the new kings and queens of maiming and striking down the many creatures.

The improvements in Final Fantasy 14 patch 6.0.8 bring Paladins' damage output up to par with the rest of the tanks, significantly enhancing the power of their abilities across the board, with Blade of Faith, Blade of Truth, and Blade of Valor receiving massive damage boosts. Warriors have also benefited from this patch, as the potency of their ranged ability Tomahawk has been enhanced by 50%.

Dragoons, Dancers, Ninjas, Black Mages, and Samurai were the vocations that had the most alterations in terms of damage dealing. Dragoons got a much-needed boost in potency across the board, as well as bringing Stardiver's damage closer to that of other jobs' long-cooldown abilities. Their tether ability, Dragon's Eye, has had its range expanded from 12 to 30 yards, making it easier for them and their teammates to place themselves in the heart of a chaotic big battle.

Performers were in a terrible place before the release of 6.0.8 because, although being designed as a support role first and foremost, their damage output was still disappointingly low. Together with Ninjas, Black Mages, and Samurai, they will once again be capable of dishing out significant numbers outside and within Endwalker's Pandaemonium attacks.

Further major adjustments include a minor damage boost for Machinists and Summoners, which should bring the damage-dealing jobs closer to a more balanced state than when Endwalker first began. Unfortunately, the poor status of Dark Knights could not be solved only by numerical tweaks, and the job is set to be reworked in Endwalker's 6.1 patches, which is also expected to bring Ishgard residences to the gameplay.

Final Fantasy 14 is currently available on the PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
