Bob Saget, the actor-comedian best known for his roles on "Full House" and as the wisecracking host of "America's Funniest Home Videos," died while on a stand-up tour. he died at the age of 65.

"We are heartbroken to confirm that our dear Bob died away today," said the Saget family in a statement. "He was everything to us, and we want you to know how much he loved performing live for his fans and bringing people from all walks of life together via laughing. Though we respectfully want solitude at this time, we encourage you to join us in honoring Bob and the joy he brought to the world."

Saget was found dead in a hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando Grande Lakes on Sunday, according to an Orange County Sheriff's Office statement.

According to a sheriff's statement on Twitter, deputies in Orange County, Florida, were alerted about an "unresponsive guy" in a hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando on Sunday and found Saget dead. Detectives found “no signs of foul play or drug use in this case.

Saget was in Florida as part of his tour "I Don't Do Negative Comedy Tour." He celebrated online after receiving positive feedback from his audiences at his shows in Orlando on Friday and in the Ponte Vedra Beach resort area on Saturday.

"I'm back in comedy like I used to be when I was 26." "I guess I'm finding my new voice and loving every minute of it," he wrote on Instagram on Saturday.

Saget's career path was unexpected, he told Jake Tapper in a July 2021 interview.

"'Full House' was an unintentional comedy," he explained. "I was fired from CBS and offered to appear in 'Full House.'"

The sitcom aired for eight seasons and stars Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, and twins Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen in one role. It was revived in syndication, and there was such nostalgia for it that Netflix picked up a spin-off in 2016, "Fuller House," starring Bure but including frequent visits from original cast members such as Saget, Dave Coulier, and John Stamos. It lasted five seasons, ending in 2020.

"I am heartbroken. I'm upset. I'm completely taken aback. "I will never have another buddy like him," commented John Stamos, who co-starred on "Full House" with Saget. "I adore you," Bobby says.

"I'm at a loss for words." Bob was one of the most wonderful people I'd ever met. "I adored him," Candace Cameron Bure, who played Saget's daughter on "Full House," remarked.

"In an often harsh business, he was historically not only humorous but also one of the kindest human beings I ever encountered in my career," actor Richard Lewis remarked on Twitter.

Coulier also made reference to his former co-star on social media, posting a photo of the two holding hands and writing, "I'll never let you go, brother. We adore you."

Saget worked steadily in film and television roles after his first round of sitcom fame, but he became known to a new generation of sitcom fans on CBS's "How I Met Your Mother," acting as narrator and the voice of future Ted Mosby. This show aired until 2014.

Saget remained a fixture in stand-up comedy over the years, releasing multiple specials and touring with his show.

Saget's reputation for reveling in a much edgier brand of comedy could be seen in films like "The Aristocrats," which explored the competition among comics to tell the filthiest version of the same joke, and his appearance as a version of himself on HBO's "Entourage."

In a 2013 interview with Esquire, Saget explained, "I am basically just a nine-year-old boy that evolved." To that end, Saget seemed to enjoy defying his success on squeaky-clean shows by telling dirty jokes at ABC events to make the executives cringe.

Saget was in the middle of a tour that would take him to New York, Canada, and several other cities in the coming months when he died.

Saget frequently hosted comedy events to raise funds for the Scleroderma Research Foundation, for which he served on the board of directors, according to his website. According to his website, he lost his sister to chronic disease in 1994.

In 2020, he launched "Bob Saget's Here For You," an interview show on which he welcomed guests such as Tiffany Haddish, Jason Sudeikis, Whoopi Goldberg, and Norman Lear.

On Sunday, Lear was one of many people who paid tribute to Saget.

"Bob Saget was as lovely a human as he was funny," Lear wrote on Twitter. "And, in my opinion, he was hilarious. We were close friends, and I adored him."
