Certain Affinity could be developing a new Halo Infinite mode as well as an Xbox 'Monster Hunter clone', According to reports.

Since 2007, the renowned support studio based in Austin, Texas, has worked on installments in the Halo and Call of Duty series, as well as shooters Left 4 Dead and Doom.

According to Windows Central, Certain Affinity is working on a new game mode for Halo Infinite, which may be the shooter's take on battle royale or something else unique.

The report claimed, Xbox is working with Certain Affinity on a Monster Hunter-style co-op game.

In addition to the internal games, Microsoft is working on a number of third-party projects, including IO Interactive's Project Dragon, Interior Night's As Dusk Falls, and Avalanche's Contraband. We've discovered yet another game thanks to the latest edition of Jeff Grubb's GrubbSnax show.

"They're likes, we probably won't be able to get Monster Hunter on Game Pass because it's too pricey – but we absolutely want a game like that because we see the potential for it to grow and be a massive thing with long-term support," he said.

Jez Corden of Windows Central said he'd also been told about Certain Affinity's Monster Hunter-style game, called 'Project Suerte.'

His sources claim that the project has been in the works since the summer of 2020 and that it would most likely be announced next year, with a 2024 release date.

CEO Satya Nadella claimed during Microsoft's quarterly earnings call on Tuesday that Halo Infinite had the best launch in the franchise's history, garnering over 20 million players since its December release on Xbox, PC, and Game Pass.

Since its November release on the same platforms, Forza Horizon 5 has attracted 18 million players.

Certain Affinity has been a long-time Microsoft partner, working on everything from Halo 2 to the Master Chief Collection to Halo Infinite. Certain Affinity may also be working on a new game mode for Halo Infinite, which may be a spin-off of the popular battle royale idea or something altogether new.

In any case, it looks like Microsoft plans to extend its relationship with Certain Affinity by approving this new IP, which CA has been teasing and hiring for some time based on LinkedIn profiles and job vacancies on their own website. Given the development timeframes, it may be some time before we see this game properly revealed, but as a Monster Hunter fan, I can confidently say that my curiosity has been aroused.
