Lost Ark has officially been released in the West Region of Europe. Amazon Games and Smilegate RPG have launched a new European server area for Lost Ark, as well as a slew of free stuff for gamers.

The Amazon Games and Smilegate RPG teams only needed three days of a continuous effort to open up more European servers for Lost Ark fans. The teams revealed on Valentine's Day that due to the high demand of users coming into the game, they were required to develop not just one new server, but a whole new area of servers.

The free-to-play MMO ARPG launched last Friday among a slew of glitches and lengthy queue lines. Based on the spike and ensuing backlash, it appears that the two companies misjudged the number of people eager to explore Arkesia's regions in Lost Ark.

Amazon just announced that as of February 14, it had 4.7 million new registered players in the western region alone (55 percent from North America and 45 percent from Europe). Those figures exclude the millions of people who have been playing in South Korea since the end of 2019.

Europe West, a new region, launched earlier today with eight servers (Rethramis, Tortoyk, Moonkeep, Stonehearth, Shadespire, Tragon, Petrania, Punika). Smilegate RPG expects to "lower, not eliminate" the excessively large backlog times for Europe Central by launching these new servers. It pledges to add extra servers based on population levels if necessary. Players may need to restart the client to see the new list of servers.

However, there are a few things to consider before opting to call the new Europe West area home. Players can continue to use Royal Crystals and Crystalline Aura, but any redeemed, claimed, or earned items will not transfer over. As a result, in-game things such as mounts, pets, and gold will not be transferred. Auction houses are also regional in nature. Also, because this is a completely new area, gamers from EW will not be able to queue with players from Europe Central.

All players that log in between February 20 at 8:59AM CET (February 19, 11:59AM PT) and March 2 at 8:59AM CET (March 1 at 11:59PM PT) will receive the previously mentioned free launch celebration prizes. What's more, gamers deciding to give the new Europe West servers a go will make it more efficient progression support. Not only will they last 10 days of daily attendance awards be automatically awarded to all characters, but there will also be unique daily attendance incentives for the first 10 days.

Finally, everyone who purchased the Founder's Pack through Steam or redeemed an Amazon key before 12:00PM PT / 8:59PM CET on February 14 will receive an additional set of the special items they claimed, as well as some additional Royal Crystals. On Saturday, February 19, players should begin to notice them. All additional Founder's Pack items can be claimed on any new server, however, Smilegate RPG advises users to be certain about where they want to live before doing anything.

Lost Ark is now available on PC.
