A new update for Pokémon Legends: Arceus has been released by Nintendo, and it features a variety of issue fixes.
The most noticeable of them addresses a problem that many players had reported and catching a Cherrim was nearly impossible is one of them.
Some say Cherrim in the lower region of the Lonely Spring had a poor catch rate, whereas Cherrim in the higher area was quite easy to catch. As well as a few other issues are fixed in the current patch, which takes the game up to version 1.02.
In its first week, Pokémon Legends: Arceus sold 6.5 million copies, making it the fastest-selling Pokémon game on Switch.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus offers one of the most unique settings in the series' history, combining action and exploration with Pokémon's RPG roots.
Legends focus on discovery rather than the traditional difficulty of conquering gym leaders and the Elite Four to become a Pokémon master. Players are tasked with studying Pokémon in order to create the Hisui region's first Pokédex.
According to vgc's review of Pokémon Legends: Arceus, it's "the series' best game in years," and it's "the breath of fresh air the series has needed for so long."
Potential bug: the Cherrim found on the bottom part of The Lonely Spring may have a bugged catch rate. Three of us have spent the past 3 hours trying to catch it, but it wouldn't capture. Then each of us tried the top part of the area, and almost instantly caught it.

The following are the complete patch notes for the new update Version 1.0.2:
Pokemon Legends: Arceus patch Notes 1.02 Version Features.
- Fixed an issue where, while offline, the screen could freeze after trying to pick up a lost satchel by throwing out a ball that contains a Pokémon.
- Fixed an issue that sometimes made it difficult to catch Cherrim.
- Fixed an issue where a certain event would not occur during a particular Mission, preventing the scenario from proceeding as intended.
- Fixed an issue where players could obtain certain Pokémon twice instead of once only as intended, prohibiting the player from obtaining other certain Pokémon. The relevant Pokémon will appear for players who were unable to catch those certain Pokémon due to this issue.
How to Update Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
A new software update for Pokémon Legends: Arceus became available for download on February 8, 2022. While your Nintendo Switch system is connected to the internet, please take a moment to download and install this update.

- Connect the Nintendo Switch console to the internet.
- From the HOME Menu, select the icon for the software you wish to update without starting the game or application.
- Press the + or - Button on your controller, then select Software Update followed by Via the Internet.
- Once the update is installed, the newest version number will be displayed on the title screen.
Important Notes for Pokemon Legend: Arceus:
- This update must be applied in order to use the game’s Internet features.
- A Nintendo Switch Online membership is required to use the game's online features.
- Save data will still be available for use after downloading the update.
- The update will download and install automatically if the system is connected to the internet and the Auto-Update Software setting is enabled. If there is not enough system memory or microSD card storage to download the update, you will first need to expand or free up memory space and then follow the steps below.
- All players must be using the same version of the software to play together. Please make sure you have the same updated version as the person you are playing with.
