Steam Deck verified Over 240 games Image |
While the Steam Deck may not be able to play all of them just yet, the list of confirmed games is expanding. Steam Deck has already 50,000 games.
It's only a little more than two weeks until the Steam Deck is released to the public. Despite Valve's history of flopped hardware efforts, it's looking more and more like this latest venture could be the one that proves the company is capable of more than just software. Testers and companies are already praising it, and it has a high possibility of being a game-changer when it is launched soon. Meanwhile, there's the small problem of having titles ready for launch day support, and that list is expanding all the time.

Although Steam presently has about 50,000 games in its database, having 243 of them confirmed is still quite a feat. Given that more than 100 titles were confirmed for Steam Deck just a week and a half ago, it is clear that significant progress is being made. Many of the games that will be made compatible will be the ones that most fans will want to play anyway, which means that many of the games that will not be confirmed in time will be more obscure titles or ones with a very small following.
Valve and its partners appear to have used the extra time to keep working hard on Half-Life 2, which has received a UI update to make it compatible with the tablet. As many people are aware, the Deck was supposed to be released for Christmas 2021, but it had to be postponed owing to constant technological limitations.
Although games like Fortnite will not be updated for the Steam Deck, there will be plenty of other amazing games that will be playable right away. With the list of validated titles expanding all the time, at least a few hundred will almost probably be ready to go by February 25. Although it required waiting a little longer, the extra months allowed everyone involved to make some last-minute plans.
On February 25, the Steam Deck will be released.
