Monster Hunter Rise's huge Sunbreak expansion coming

Next week, Capcom will announce new information about Monster Hunter Rise's "massive" Sunbreak expansion.

The publisher announced that on Tuesday, March 15, it will live broadcast around 20 minutes of "programming, featuring thrilling announcements of new monsters, gameplay information, and more."

Capcom's Twitch channel will host the live stream at 14:00 GMT / 7:00 PDT.

The new paid DLC will be available in Summer 2022, and it will include new storylines, locations, and creatures, as well as new hunting activities and quest rank.

In March 2021, Monster Hunter Rise was launched for Nintendo Switch, along with a limited edition console and three Amiibo that allowed players to acquire new armor sets.

According to Capcom, the game sold 4 million units in its first weekend and 5 million in its first ten days, boosting the Monster Hunter series' total sales to more than 70 million units. Resident Evil, Capcom's most popular franchise, has sold nearly 100 million copies worldwide.

Monster Hunter World, the publisher's previous Monster Hunter game, sold 5 million copies in its first weekend despite being available on numerous platforms.

Monster Hunter Rise was released in January for the PC via Steam.
