A website devoted to Final Fantasy news starts in preparation for the franchise's 35th anniversary and the release of upcoming games this year.

Final Fantasy is one of the world's most popular RPG series. The first installment was released on December 18, 1987, and a website was created to commemorate the 35th anniversary.

The first Final Fantasy game was created by Square, now known as Square Enix, and was launched on the Nintendo Entertainment System. It was a massive hit inspiring Square to create a slew of sequels and spin-offs over the next 35 years.

Fans will be able to discover more about upcoming games in the series and read updates from Final Fantasy's official Twitter account on the newly created website. Yoshinori Kitase, who has worked on several Square Enix games as a director, producer, writer, and supervisor, has also left a message. He went on to say that the 35th anniversary of the original Final Fantasy also serves as a celebration of other great games. Final Fantasy 5 was released 30 years ago, Final Fantasy 7 was released 25 years ago, and Final Fantasy 11: Online has released 20 years ago.

Fans of the series can learn about a number of Final Fantasy games that are coming out this year by visiting the website. Chocobo GP, the first of these, arrives on Nintendo Switch tomorrow. This month also saw the release of Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin. The game will be released on March 18 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis is the final new game confirmed for release this year, and it will bring the tale of Final Fantasy 7 to mobile gamers, along with spin-off titles like Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children and Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7. Final Fantasy 6 is the final title in the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster collection, and it will be released on PC and mobile devices.

Final Fantasy 16 is the most anticipated game in the series. More details on the game will hopefully be disclosed on the website as well, even if it won't be released this year.

Even if Final Fantasy 16 doesn't come out this year, fans of the series will have much to look forward to starting tomorrow. As time passes, the website may expose information that fans are unaware of at the present. Regardless, 2018 is a momentous year for Final Fantasy, as the classic series that revolutionized the RPG genre celebrates its 35th anniversary.
