NATO must modify following Russia's invasion of Ukraine - Romania.

NATO must adapt its military posture on its eastern border to the new reality created by Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Romania's Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu said on Friday, without specifying whether he wants partner soldiers to be stationed there permanently.

"We have to adapt our position to reality, which reveals that Russian troops are in Ukraine and Belarus, therefore we have to reconsider everything," he told reporters as he arrived in Brussels for a conference of NATO foreign ministers.

Starting with the next fiscal year, Romania will increase its defense spending to 2.5 %, up from 2 percent.
