Lukashenko establishes a new command near Ukraine and accepts the possibility of war

Alexander Lukashenko, the self–proclaimed president of the Republic of Belarus, has stated that the Armed Forces of Belarus are creating a new operational command – Yuzhnoye – and has begun talking about a possible war on the country's territory.

According to Lukashenko, Belarus will face "military pressure" from Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and NATO troops stationed there. As a result, he decided to establish a separate command to control the country's south (where the Republic of Belarus borders Ukraine), which would operate "in wartime conditions."

"We need to work out planning under these conditions if, God forbid, there is a war, and how we will act," Lukashenko said.
