Ukraine has completed all of the criteria for EU candidate status.

In his video address to the European Council, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made the necessary statement.

Ukraine received a questionnaire from the European Union on April 8, 2022, when the fifth sanctions package was authorized.

"And we've already replied to it this time." These answers have already been given to the European Commission. Unprecedented speed, and – most importantly – harmony. We expect a similar response from Europe. And we reject any attempt to identify a non-essential alternative or something else for Ukraine. We must replicate your behavior. "We want Ukraine to be recognized as a candidate," Zelensky stated.

The President of Ukraine expressed his hope that those countries that are still wary of Ukraine will alter their opinions and demonstrate the country's unity.

"The strength of our nations, which have strongly voted in support of our membership in the European Union. "The strength of your nations, states, and a united Europe," Zelensky said.

Zelensky recognized the European Commission's unity, ability to work together, energy, and commitment to a strong European Union's future.

"So that we are reliant on ourselves rather than some Moscow offices." You can check whether anything the European Union says about itself is true right now. "It's about unity in diversity, shared principles, and a common approach to all European democracies," Zelensky added.

According to him, Europe will never be complete without Ukraine.

"Without Ukraine, there will never be a full-fledged European power." "The fact that Ukraine remained a fragment of Europe, somewhere outside your countries, contributed to Russia developing an aggressive appetite to seize its neighbors," Ukraine's President emphasized.

Only enlargement and strengthening European unity, according to Zelensky, can prevent a repeat of what Europe experienced on February 24, 2014, or even in 1968 or 1956.

A take note that Ukraine submitted an application for EU membership and completed all necessary procedures on February 28, 2022.
