The release date for Wanderer of the Rift, the second piece of DLC for Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin, has been revealed by Square Enix.

Square Enix has released a video teaser for Wanderer of the Rift, the second downloadable content pack for Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin. The brief trailer shows off some new action set pieces while also announcing the October 26th release date for the second Final Fantasy Origin expansion.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is an action RPG developed by Koei Tecmo-owned Team Ninja that, as the title suggests, is a predecessor to the original Final Fantasy from 1987. It was published in March to largely positive reviews and the promise of three extra pieces of DLC. Trials of the Dragon King, the first expansion from that trio, debuted on July 20th.

Wanderer of the Rift will challenge Final Fantasy Origin players to survive a new dungeon named Labyrinth of Dimensions. The DLC will include new special monsters that will be both encounterable and summonable. It will also add the Blue Mage class to the already lengthy list of Final Fantasy Origin jobs. New equipment and abilities will also be included, though Square Enix has yet to reveal any information.

Access to the new in-game dungeon is likely to be restricted to the harshest Final Fantasy Origin difficulty, as was the case with the game's initial expansion, a design decision that was met with mixed reactions from the player community. Team Ninja's strategy has long been to cater to the most ardent fans. when it comes to action games, as shown by series like as Nioh and Ninja Gaiden.

The Wanderer of the Rift DLC, like Trials of the Dragon King, will not be offered separately. Instead, the expansion will be locked behind the Final Fantasy Origin season pass, which is normally $29.99. PS4 and PS5 players may presently get the game's Digital Deluxe Edition for 30% off, bringing the price down to $62.99 and therefore making the season pass "free." That particular discount is only available until Thursday, September 15th, though similar deals may arise on the PlayStation Store and other platforms around the holidays.

According to today's announcement, the third DLC for Final Fantasy Origin, Different Future, will most likely be released in the first quarter of 2023. Assuming Team Ninja sticks to its quarterly release plan, Square Enix could reveal some definite facts regarding the game's last expansion as early as December.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
