The game files for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet contain a significant change to Ultra Beasts that could have a negative impact on DLC.
The Ultra Beasts are no longer listed in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet files as sub-legendaries, Game Freak's internal term for some Pokemon that fall under the legendary category. For instance, as many fans are aware, not all legendary Pokemon are mythical, while all mythical Pokemon are legendary. Additionally, there are legendary Pokemon, which are not comparable to box mascots. This modification might portend a significant change to Ultra Beasts when the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC adds them in.
It's also important to note that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Paradox Pokemon were not included in the list of sub-legends since the game's release. Due to the fact that Ultra Beasts were revered in the previous two generations, this could also mean that Game Freak is abandoning this moniker internally. In the Crown Tundra DLC for Pokemon Sword and Shield, they are present alongside legendary Pokemon.
In any case, after looking into the internal classification of the Paradox Pokemon, Twitter user Kurt discovered that Ultra Beasts were also not sub-legends. They speculate that since Ultra Beasts are regarded as "common in another world," this might be a sign of DLC. This could be explained by the fact that they would be more prevalent there, making it unlikely that players will visit Ultra Space in its entirety in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC. They are, however, possibly the most durable item to appear in DLC. Players receive a Beast Ball as a reward for finishing the Gen 9 Pokedex, though as of this writing, it serves no practical purpose in the game.
Interestingly, in Pokémon Scarlet/Violet, Shiinotic is considered a Mythical and Marshadow is not. This error is probably due to the similarity of the Japanese names (マシェード / マーシャドー) and the internal species names (MASHEEDO / MAASYADOO)! pic.twitter.com/rmc69fZJ0l

When the Ultra Beasts are formally included in the game, it might be a good idea to check how they are described since this internal language change could take place for a variety of reasons. Ultra Beast is a unique designation in and of itself because these creatures are always endgame-level content and have unique requirements. Since the internal legendary search in Pokemon GO doesn't include Ultra Beasts, many fans have pointed out that the game doesn't treat them as legendary either. However, this isn't exactly concrete proof.

Fans can reasonably anticipate a DLC announcement in the near future, even though specific details need to be worked out by Game Freak and The Pokemon Company. The most likely date is thought to be Pokemon Day in February, and the new games might get two, just like Pokemon Sword and Shield. Although many fans desire more convergent lines, Paradox Pokemon, and plot developments, it is essentially guaranteed that Ultra Beasts will be included in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are currently accessible only through the Nintendo Switch.
