Omega Strikers, a free-to-play game, will be released on Nintendo Switch

Nintendo Switch release information for the free-to-play game Omega Strikers

For players who prefer to play brawler Omega Strikers on the go, a release date for the Switch version has been announced by Odyssey Interactive.

The Nintendo Switch release date for the free-to-play 3v3 brawler Omega Strikers from Odyssey Interactive has been announced. On February 8, the Nintendo Direct showcase for February 2023 was held. Several upcoming games received mentions during the presentation, the majority of which were already known to be in development.

The Nintendo Direct trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom with its recently revealed collector's edition, Link amiibo, and, perhaps less excitingly, its $70 price tag was unquestionably the highlight of the showcase for many gamers. However, a number of other games also received trailers, such as the Switch version of Omega Strikers from 2022, Bayonetta Origins, Metroid Prime Remastered, and Dead Cells' Return to Castlevania DLC.

Omega Strikers debuted in open beta on the PC a few months ago, but it will launch on the Nintendo Switch on April 27, 2023, and you can already preorder it from the eShop. Gamers in the online multiplayer game Omega Strikers choose from more than 15 different characters known as Strikers to form two teams of three players each. The game, which the creator refers to as a "footbrawler," is silly and lets players throw slime and tofu at each other while avoiding obstacles in the arena. A kind of hockey puck-like object is attempted to be sent into the opponent's goal during play.

The characters in Omega Strikers each have a unique set of skills that make them suitable for a specific position in the arena. For instance, Juliette is a forward who excels on offense and who, thanks to her speed, can also play defense. Drek'ar, on the other hand, has a shotgun attack that does damage over time to further annoy the opposing team and is useful for sneaking up on enemies and taking them out with it.

The creator of Omega Strikers, Odyssey Interactive, promised that the game would be released on mobile devices and home consoles in addition to the PC. Except for the Nintendo Switch version, it's currently unknown if those versions are still in development or when they might be anticipated to arrive. The game's development and self-publication are being handled by Odyssey, a studio that was established in 2020 by former Riot Games employees.

Overall, the Nintendo Direct presentation from February 2023 featured a variety of game types to suit the needs of most players, including brawlers like Omega Strikers and puzzle games like Professor Layton and the New World of Steam. Along with some of the new features that will be making their debut in the most recent installment of the well-known franchise, Pikmin 4's release date was also made public.

Omega Strikers is currently available on PC, with a Switch version scheduled for release on April 27, 2023.
