Why doesn't Real Madrid try to sign Mbappe this summer?

The transfer window just ended a while ago, and the La Liga giant Real Madrid has not accomplished.

Their long-time transfer target this summer. Kylian Mbappe, the French forward, has been long-time transfer target for Real Madrid. In 2017, Mbappe joined PSG on a loan deal from Monaco.

Eventually end himself in PSG on a permanent basis in the following year. Real Madrid was interested then but the offer PSG threw before him was hard to avoid for the then 18-year-old striker. Though his long-time goal was to join Real Madrid. In three years, he made himself one of the world's best, and loss.

only six months left on his contract. PSG, previously claiming Mbappe was not for sale, didn't even reply to the official bid. The following year, there was a huge saga for Kylian Mbappe free transfer. At somepoint, he was almost signed for Real Madrid. But at the end of the day, he extended his contract with PSG. 

The French President Emmanuel Macron and Mbappe's mother, Fayza Lamari, claimed the main influence for the deal. It was a huge ego blow for Real President Florentino Pérez. At some point, it seemed like the door of Real Madrid for Kylian Mbappe had been closed forever. But in the footballing world, you never know the future. This year, the saga emerged again when Mbappe delivered a letter to PSG stated that he wouldn't sign the new contract for the coming year. 

In response, PSG at one point left him out of the team squad, not even allowing him to enter the first team dressing room. But after the saga, he managed to get himself in the team, but the contract situation is still in a halt.

Real Madrid has been paying attention to every development regarding the player's future. 

But they didn't show any official interest in him, not even an official bid when he was put on the market by PSG.

Real Madrid didn't try to sign Mbappe this summer, maybe for some reason.

Once they were betrayed by the player and his mother. So, they want interest from Mbappe himself to join the club. So, Madrid didn't want to spend half a billion for the player when he could be signed next year. Real wants to verify the loyalty of the player to the club. Los Blancos wants to see the player's passion for his boyhood club, like the old proverb Trust but verify.

The other reason is that Real Madrid is renovating its stadium, which will cost them nearly a billion, so buying one of the best players in the world is not an option for this summer. 

PSG said they won't let Mbappe goes for free. So, getting back on the team after a rough vocal fight with his own club wasn't an easy one. It is to be believed that an arrogant man like Nasser Al-Khelaifi wouldn't get him into the team without any commitment. Without the best player, PSG also suffered. 

Another reason is that owning a French club and removing the captain and best player of the French is not easy for Nasser. It is believed that there is some sort of agreement between the club and the player that he may be sold in January 2024 at a price that can cover up their FFP rules. Another theory is that there is an agreement between Real Madrid and Kylian Mbappe, will join Real Madrid in the summer transfer window in 2024.

Because he and his mother (player's agent) don't want to miss the fee he will receive from Real Madrid.
