Star Wars is one of the most popular franchises for all media. From Knights of the Old Republic to the original Star Wars: Battlefront 2 and beyond, the brand is responsible for a slew of legendary and adored games.

Old games, on the other hand, do not have to be relegated to the past. According to a recent leak, THQ Nordic will shortly release numerous classic Star Wars titles for PS4 and Nintendo Switch. Jedi Knight and Jedi Knight 2, Star Wars: Republic Commando, and Star Wars Episode 1: Racer is the games in dispute.

Xbox Series X|S is breaking sales records for Xbox consoles

It's unknown whether the games will be packaged, but it seems likely. Aside from that, it's unclear what THQ brings to the table. The titles will also be offered in two packages on PS4 and Nintendo Switch, according to the reports. The Star Wars: Jedi Knight Collection is the first. The first Jedi Knight game, as well as Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast, appear to be included. It's unclear whether the bundle includes Mysteries of the Sith, a Jedi Knight expansion pack. The second package brings together Episode 1: Racer and Republic Commando, an uncommon coupling. Both bundles will be available on October 8th.

Gemastsu detected the leak and announced it on its Twitter account. All four games are already accessible digitally, according to the tweet. Last year, Star Wars Episode I: Racer was released on Xbox One, Switch, and PlayStation 4. In April, Republic Commando was released on PS4 and Switch, and it was already backward compatible with Xbox systems. The first Jedi Knight is the only new arrival, as Jedi Knight 2 is also available on PS4 and Switch. Unfortunately, there's no word on whether the Jedi Knight games will be released on Xbox One or the Xbox Series X/S.

For those unfamiliar with the games, LucasArts first released Star Wars Episode 1: Racer in 1999 for the PC and the N64. It included many tracks on various planets and let players participate in the film's renowned Pod Races. Republic Commando, on the other hand, is a squad-based tactical first-person shooter released in 2005 that takes place between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. Finally, in 1995, Jedi Knight was released as a follow-up to the FPS Star Wars: Dark Forces. It was the first time the series featured lightsaber battle, which has since become a series mainstay.

None of these games have ever been completely inaccessible. A full re-release, on the other hand, maybe able to draw new gamers to these vintage games. And, based on the comments to the leak's Twitter thread, it appears that THQ Nordic has gained a few new admirers. Not to mention that it may make THQ a lot of money without them having to create any new games.
