Nexus Mods, a website that stores a wealth of fan-made add-ons for a wide range of games, is almost surely recognized by anyone who is familiar with the modding community. Despite the fact that Nexus recently angered some of its users by changing certain policies, it remains one of the best places to get free custom mods. Even serious horror games like Resident Evil aren't immune to fan influence, as one fan uses a model swap in the remake of the third game to create a bizarre experience.

User PlayStar201 changed Resident Evil 3 by replacing one character with another and uploaded the download earlier today. More particular, they've replaced Carlos with the ruthless Nemesis model. The photos depict Jill and other characters stone-faced by the prospect of the Tyrant monster-fighting alongside them rather than against them, making for a very amusing mod.

While some mods try to make Resident Evil 3 more challenging, PlayStar201's addition puts a wrench in the works by making Jill and Nemesis friends for the duration of the game. During the hospital/police department parts, players will be able to control Nemesis, just like they would Carlos, according to the mod's description. The author does caution, though, that Nemesis may only be "semi-playable," but that mod users should be able to "work around this" to make the Tyrant/Carlos fully playable.

It doesn't tell much about what will happen when players face off against one of Resident Evil's most known Tyrants and have to combat him, but the rest of the game should proceed normally. Jill will fight the ever-evolving beast like she would in a normal game, with scenes interspersed with her chatting with and assisting a much smaller Nemesis. There's also no news on whether the replaced model will still contain Carlos' voice, which is very amusing.
