Just with a few weeks until the release of the Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker expansion, many MMORPG fans are certainly anticipating the arrival of one of the game's largest collections of material. The expansion not only completes FF14's present plot but also adds additional playable classes to the game. However, Final Fantasy 14 producer and director Naoki Yoshida just announced that the expansion's release date has been pushed back to December.

Endwalker has been talked about a lot online by both Square Enix and the MMORPG's fandom since its announcement in early 2021. The development team keeps its audience up to date with frequent updates, including in-depth descriptions of new Endwalker locations, modifications to current roles that players should expect, and, of course, information on the new classes coming to the game. Furthermore, supporters generate their own content, ostensibly to demonstrate their enthusiasm for the expansion.

The news of Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker's postponement coincided with a previously scheduled webcast with the game's director. In a blog post on the game's official website, Yoshida apologized for the delay before going into depth about the announcement. Endwalker, according to Yoshida, will be released on December 7, 2021, rather than November 23, 2021, as originally planned. Patch 6.01 and Patch 6.05 will be published on December 21, 2021, and January 4, 2022, respectively, with the Early Access date, pushed back to December 3, 2021.

Yoshida highlighted the major reasons for Endwalker's delay in an official blog post. He explained that the team decided to put the release date back two weeks so they could fine-tune the features and reassure players of the game's quality. Given that the Final Fantasy 14 plot covers 11 years and is expected to last much longer, the developers are understandably under pressure to provide a high-quality product that their fans have grown to expect. Yoshida is confident at the end of the letter that they were able to communicate the story of Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker successfully.

Final Fantasy 14 is now available on PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. On December 7, the Endwalker expansion will be released.
