Star Wars: The Old Republic re-releases its amazing trailer in 4K

Toisthe Gaming news - Star Wars: The Old Republic re-releases its amazing trailer in 4K for its 10th anniversary.

Star Wars: The Old Republic marks its 10th anniversary with a 4K remake of one of the best video game trailers of all time.

Star Wars: The Old Republic

The Old Republic is a prequel to Star Wars: The Force Awakens. BioWare is re-releasing all of the game's renowned cinematic trailers in 4K to mark the game's 10th anniversary. The trailer, which first aired in 2009, featured a Sith invasion on the Jedi temple, a full-fledged lightsaber battle between the Light and Dark sides, and some fantastic fight choreography. We're still creeped out by the sight of multiple red lightsabers swishing out of the damaged spacecraft.

The Old Republic has been popular since its release in 2011, and fresh material is continuously being added. Legacy of the Sith, a new update for the MMO, will be released soon, bringing with it a new storyline, endgame objectives, character and combat system enhancements, and more. In their search for Darth Malgus, players will be able to travel to new areas of space, including the aquatic world of Manaan. The Sith Lord has devised a new diabolical strategy, and this planet is the key to it.

The maximum level cap will also be raised from 75 to 80 as part of the expansion. A Flashpoint will be located in a mountaintop mausoleum on the isolated planet of Elom, and players will be able to participate in an Operation in a derelict far space research station.

The fighting system will be revamped, and a new Combat Styles feature will be introduced. This will allow players to blend abilities from other tech or force-wielding classes with specific class storylines. There will also be a new character creation system, as well as enhancements to the itemization and loadout experiences, and a streamlined class design.

While Star Wars: The Old Republic is simply getting trailer remakes, for the time being, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic will get a complete overhaul, as announced at a PlayStation demonstration a few months ago. The game will be developed by Aspyr in conjunction with Lucasfilm, although no release date has been announced. EA also released an odd statement, implying that it will not be directly involved in the remake's production. Geoff Keighly tweeted the corporation directly to inquire about its involvement, but the complicated response shows it isn't.

  1. This game has NOTHING to do with the Star Wars movies. It's not even canon at this point. So it can't be a sequel or prequel (it's set ~3500 years before the movies) to The Force Awakens.

It's a sequel to Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II.
