An unreleased image of the Battlefield 2042 Exposure Map has been leaked.

Despite the fact that DLC isn't expected for a few months, a Battlefield 2042 data miner finds a new image of a new map called Exposure.

Due to the fact that Battlefield 2042 was only released last month, the game already appears to have had a long journey ahead of that as well. DICE has been churning out new patches nearly weekly to attempt and address the variety of bugs ailing the title since its launch, which has resulted in an unhappy community of players. While many of the launch day bugs have been addressed, there is still work to be done, with updates for items like aim assist coming after the holiday season.

Sadly, DICE's intentions have shifted significantly as a result of the launch troubles, with the company essentially putting all hands on deck to patch the game and keep the user base happy. DLC plans have shifted dramatically as a result of the studio's shift in priorities, according to insiders like Tom Henderson. Indeed, one data miner known as Temporyal has been particularly loud on Twitter with unearthed information on DLC plans, claiming that Season 1 of Battlefield 2042 won't start until March 2022.

It is also likely that the start date will change if a few weeks are added as a backup, Temporyal also revealed some of the stuff that will be included in Battlefield 2042 Season 1. Besides the new missions, the biggest change appears to be a new map called Exposure, which was previously known as Ridge. Exposure does not appear to match the model of a more urban-style map with a lot of potential for massive destruction.

Exposure's first concept art image shows a large open field with a mountain crest in the background and some water streaming through it. With vast sightlines and wide-open regions for vehicles, the map appears to take a lot of cues from previous Battlefield 2042 style levels. Exposure is set in the Canadian province of British Columbia, according to data mined information. A landslide in this distant site appears to have revealed a hidden research facility, and the Russian party has attacked the area, believing the base houses a secret military weapon.

Fans have been flocking to Battlefield Portal, where new custom games have been rotating through often, despite the fact that the original game looks to be getting no meaningful content for a few months. Portal has managed to bring back fan favorites like Rush, Gun Game, and others while providing novel experiences and custom modes. Portal's single current flaw is that XP is currently capped, a decision made by DICE when the servers were inundated with XP farms shortly after launch.

Battlefield 2042 is now available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
