Leaker claim that Call of Duty 2022 will include classic Modern Warfare 2 maps.

A well-known Call of Duty leaker has indicated that Modern Warfare 2 maps will return in the upcoming chapter of the game.

Further details about the Call of Duty 2022 installment have surfaced, with one famous leaker claiming that the first-person shooter series' next entry will feature the return of legendary Modern Warfare 2 maps. The next Call of Duty game is believed to be a sequel to 2019's Modern Warfare, which took a more realistic approach to the series, according to recent leaks.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was released in 2009 and is the sequel to Call of Duty 4, which was critically acclaimed when it was released two years before. While Call of Duty 4 was a formidable opponent, Modern Warfare 2 outperformed its predecessor and remains one of the best multiplayer shooters ever created. The game excelled in terms of gameplay, mechanics, and systems, but it was most notable for its unique maps set in urban settings, which included characteristics that made them stand out. Some of the most well-known locations from the Call of Duty series can be seen in Modern Warfare 2, and maps like Rust have made appearances in subsequent games.

Tom Henderson, a well-known industry writer, and leaker have released a new video (via Charlie INTEL) that provides some fresh insight on the 2022 Call of Duty sequel, including the likelihood of old Modern Warfare 2 maps returning. Henderson covers various topics in the 20-minute video, including fresh details on the game's campaign mode, the rationale for the cancellation of Modern Warfare 2 Remastered's multiplayer, and the game's brand-new DMZ game mode, which has extended versions of famous Modern Warfare 2 maps. According to the leaker, DMZ mode will be constructed from the ground up, with an upgraded AI system, PvP, and PvE, and will be akin to Escape from Tarkov.

Although Henderson revealed a slew of new details about the future game, it's still unclear whether traditional Call of Duty features that haven't been seen in recent games will return in Modern Warfare 2. Vanguard, the latest Call of Duty game, illustrates that complexity isn't necessarily better, as players have expressed a desire for a more simplified and create-a-class system similar to earlier installments. With 2019's Modern Warfare, the franchise's prestige and progression systems were also altered, and fans have been clamoring for their restoration, as they were thought to be much more beneficial.

Tom Henderson is a reliable source who has leaked information on the previous Call of Duty games as well as a slew of other titles that are still in development. Despite this, the leaker has emphasized that all information should be taken with a grain of salt, so those who are eager will have to wait for an official announcement from Activision since the reported title is planned to arrive later this year.
