PS Plus (PS4, PS5) Free Games for January 2022 are now available.

Subscribers can already claim the free PlayStation Plus games for January 2022, which will be available for around a month.

The ability to claim free games every month is one of the main benefits of joining Sony's PlayStation Plus service. Every month on the first Tuesday. A new batch of free games is available for PlayStation Plus subscribers to download, and on Tuesday, January 4. PS Plus subscribers can download the first free PS Plus games of the year 2022.

The free PlayStation Plus games for January 2022 are now available to claim, replacing the December 2021 free PS Plus titles as well as the extra free PlayStation VR games that were available for a few months to honor the headset's 5th anniversary. Subscribers now get the PS4 and PS5 versions of Deep Rock Galactic and Dirt 5, as well as Persona 5 Strikers on PS4, for the month of January.

The PS Plus games for December 2021 faced criticism for not having the PS5 version of Mortal Shell and giving away a trimmed-down version of looter-slasher Godfall, but it appears that Sony has avoided making the same mistake with the January list. Both Deep Rock Galactic and Dirt 5 have native PS4 and PS5 versions, and while Persona 5 Strikers does not have a PS5 version, it can be played on Sony's next-generation console using limited functionality.

Deep Rock Galactic, for example, is a co-op game in which players mine for materials while fighting off swarms of alien monsters. Deep Rock Galactic has been compared to Left 4 Dead, so PS Plus customers looking for a new co-op experience should be pleased to see it join the lineup. Deep Rock Galactic contains PS5-exclusive capabilities with the DualSense controller, which may attract the curiosity of PS5 owners.

Meanwhile, Dirt 5 is a well-received racing game and the newest installment in the long-running Dirt series. Finally, Persona 5 Strikers is a Persona 5 spin-off that also acts as a sequel in terms of gameplay.

Subscribers can claim the free PS Plus games for January 2022 until Tuesday, February 1, after which they will be replaced by the free PS Plus games for February 2022. Sony has not announced which games PS Plus subscribers will be able to claim next month, but the next free PS Plus games are usually announced on the last Wednesday of each month, so fans will likely find out on Wednesday, January 26.
