Capcom has been accused of 'adapting an $80 stock image' for the logo of Street Fighter 6

Capcom has been accused of 'adapting an $80 stock image' for the logo of Street Fighter 6.

The new logo claim is based on a template found on Adobe's stock image website. It's been indicated that the new Street Fighter 6 logo is a revised version of an $80 stock image.

On Monday, Capcom formally revealed the sixth entry in the Street Fighter series, promising further details in the summer.

The game's new logo, which replaces the series' iconic sketch style typography with the letters SF in a hexagon, was also shown in the teaser trailer.

However, as Ars Technica's creative director Aurich Lawson pointed out on Twitter, the new logo is strikingly identical to the one available for $79.99 on the Adobe Stock Image website.

"On Adobe's Stock site, the new Street Fighter 6 logo is $80," Lawson claimed. "I'm not sure what to say." I was aware that it was generic, but I had no idea how horrible it was. They went to a stock logo site and looked for 'SF,' round a couple of edges, and added the 6."

The 'SF FS logo design vector template' offering from Adobe Stock Image isn't precisely the same as the Street Fighter 6 logo. The hexagon of Capcom's logo is thinner, the main sections of the letters are inclined down, and some corners are rounded.

Because Adobe's logo is available as an AI/EPS file for purchase, it can be readily modified in Adobe Illustrator. As a result, it's assumed that the logo was purchased and subsequently changed slightly.

Following the conclusion of a week-long teasing campaign associated with Capcom's official esports competition, the company officially announced Street Fighter 6 on Monday.

The publisher says it's working on the fighting sequel "with the goal of pushing the fighting game genre to a new level in the realm of esports while also employing [our] cutting-edge development technologies to provide a captivating game experience," according to the statement.

There's no word yet on which platforms the game will be released on.

Capcom also announced Capcom Fighting Collection, a ten-game collection that includes Darkstalkers games that were never released in the west.
