A Skyrim modder is hard at work on a mod that will transform the game from its ancient time period to a strongly sci-fi-focused world.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has come to represent everything that is excellent about the open-world genre. Skyrim provides enough material for even the most dedicated gamer, with plenty of open space filled with random NPCs, interactions, and discoveries, leaving gamers hundreds or perhaps thousands of hours of content.
Despite the fact that there is a lot of content for players to go through, that hasn't stopped them from making and downloading a variety of different mods that improve gameplay in minor or major ways. From Skyrim mods that add additional trees to mods that dramatically change gameplay, NPCs, or other components, there is almost surely a mod for any player's needs.
Modes that radically change Skyrim from the ground up, are rare. While it is easy for users to install enough modes to completely change Skyream, there are not many modes that exist for the purpose of making Skyrim look like a completely different game. However, the popular Skyrim modder Ripcat decided to do just that, developing a mod that transformed Skyrim into a sci-fi game from its original setting.
Ripcat released an update video for the mod, presenting a whole different game than Skyrim. Because of the mod's graphics, the views are magnificent; with the walking and camera angles, it appears as if the camera is hovering through the city sceneries. The environments give off feelings of a sci-fi city, with sights such as a large, intricate door one may see on a sci-fi ship to a black pyramid with neon lights and graphics. There were also some android NPCs roaming around who looked like they were right out of Mass Effect. While there are mods that turn Skyrim into Harry Potter or other fantasy realms, Ripcat's mod may be the first to turn Skyrim into a sci-fi game.
Given that a sci-fi version of Skyrim exists in the Fallout series of games, Ripcat's decision to alter Skyrim to a sci-fi setting is puzzling. Ripcat's hack, on the other hand, aims to change Skyrim into a much more serene sci-fi experience. The setting in the Fallout series is almost always volatile or dangerous, pushing players against a variety of threats in the open world. It's also a hostile-looking series, with a lot of irradiated and decayed settings. Ripcat's mod converts Skyrim into a naturally beautiful world, complete with sleek cities and infrastructure as well as amazing natural environments.
Because some players' experiences can be hampered by a visually displeasing encounter, mods that improve the graphics of Skyrim VR have been created. On the other hand, it motivates the development of mods like Ripcat's, which drastically alter the graphical and gameplay feeling of Skyrim.
