Walkthrough for The Witcher 3: Lilacs and Gooseberries

Geralt is on the hunt for Yennefer in The Witcher 3, but he'll have to complete a huge deal to obtain the information he needs. Walkthrough for The Witcher 3: Lilacs and Gooseberries.

Geralt's lost memories were eventually recovered in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which had been absent since he was discovered by Triss Merigold on the outskirts of Kaer Morhen in the first game. Geralt wakes up filled with thoughts of lilac and gooseberries, the signature scent of his sorceress beloved, Yennefer, and more eager than ever to locate her.

Geralt tells Vesemir about his dream and asks for guidance on how to continue their hunt for Yen, and after their talk, the world is free for Geralt to explore. The first official mission in Wild Hunt's main narrative, "Lilac and Gooseberries," takes players to the town of White Orchard, where Geralt hopes to finally land a lead that would reunite him with Yennefer.Walkthrough for The Witcher 3: Lilacs and Gooseberries.

Follow Vesemir's

When Geralt and Vesemir break camp, they are ambushed by ghouls, and the game's first true fight starts. Draw Geralt's silver blade and dispatch them quickly, then search the area for Yennefer's crystal skull for 50 XP. Mount Roach and continue on the road with Vesemir until you reach a ransacked and abandoned town after crossing the bridge. During a brief cutscene there, they meet a merchant who has been imprisoned by a griffin. This starts a brief struggle in which Vesemir is injured.

Return to the road and bike to White Orchard, which is occupied by Nilfgaard, to speak with the locals about Yennefer. Enter the bar and chat with the proprietor, who has little information but tells Geralt to speak with other customers. Geralt can go around the bar asking guests about Yennefer as Vesemir tends to his wound at a table towards the back.

There is just one patron who has true knowledge: Gaunter O'Dimm. When speaking with O'Dimm, he identifies Yennefer based on her description and learns that she talked with the Nilfgaardian commander before leaving. He advises Geralt to ride out to the Nilfgaardian fortress since they are more likely to know more about the woman he is looking for.

Head To The Nilfgaardian Garrison

Geralt gets confronted by three guys from the tavern as he is leaving. For a 25XP bonus, use the Axii sign to soothe and subjugate one of the guys. Taking them on one at a time allows the other two to wait until the current foe has been beaten. Once they've all been defeated, proceed to the village's north end, where the Nilfgaardian Garrison is located.

There are several opponents to battle on the route to the garrison, as well as a side mission to pick up. When you get at the garrison, go inside and speak with Captain Peter Saar Gwynleve about Yennefer. Given Geralt's status as a witcher, the captain proposes an exchange of information on Yen in return for Geralt doing a witcher's assignment for him.

The griffin that Geralt and Vesemir encountered earlier has been harassing White Orchard and complicating the captain's work. If Geralt defeats it, the captain will reveal what he knows. Leave the garrison after learning a few tricks for luring and slaying the beast. For the time being, the quest objective has been changed to "The Beast of White Orchard."

Battle With The Beast Of White Orchard

To begin, go to the hunter's hut shown on the map and talk with Mislav. Mislav is out hunting, so use Geralt's witcher powers to track him down and pursue him into the woods. When you locate him, either tell him you're in a hurry or assist him in slaying the dogs nearby. In any case, he will ultimately bring Geralt to the scene of the griffin assault so that he may inspect the surroundings.

There are clues to locate and pursue using Geralt's witcher senses, leading to the conclusion that Nilfgaardian troops were partying in the region. Follow their trails to the griffin's nest to learn the true cause of the griffin's rage: Nilfgaardians murdered his mate while she was asleep, causing it to lash out at the surrounding settlement.

Meet with the village herbalist, Tomira, after obtaining evidence from the location. There is a supplementary quest available at her cabin, so either accepts it or ignore it before hunting for the buckthorn component required to entice the griffin. Geralt is directed to the riverside by Tomira. Dive in, keeping a watch out for nekkers, and collect the required buckthorn before returning to White Orchard to talk with Vesemir.

When Geralt meets Vesemir at the ambush spot, he will give him his first crossbow of the game before leaving him to face the beast alone. When Geralt fires the crossbow at the griffin, it is forced to land, allowing Geralt to fight. Avoid assaulting from the front since it provides greater access to severe strikes. When the griffin's health hits half, it will take flight. To beat it, mount up or run to a nearby cave and use the same battle techniques as previously. Return to the Nilfgaarddian garrison and report to Peter, who will give a reward and inform Geralt that Yennefer has gone to Vizima.

White Orchard should be abandoned
Return to the tavern to meet with Vesemir and plan your departure from White Orchard. A gang of robbers causes chaos at the pub, resulting in a brawl between the bandits and the witchers. The locals are so shaken by the conflict that they request that the witchers leave town. As they leave, they come upon a Nilfgaardian patrol commanded by Yennefer herself.

Geralt is told by Yennefer that he must accompany her to Vizima for an audience with the Emperor, who has requested his attendance. Geralt then follows her, parting ways with Vesemir, who returns to Kaer Morhen to escape political entanglements. A cutscene occurs when Geralt and Yennefer ride to Vizima, during which they are assaulted by the Wild Hunt. There is no need for gaming here; simply watch as Yennefer smashes the bridge and cuts them off, allowing the duo to ride to temporary safety in Vizima.
