The follow-up to Judgement, Lost Judgment, is set to release this month and will give players another mystery to unravel in the Yakuza universe. The sequel appears to be a significant endeavor for Sega, since it will be the first game in the Yakuza series to be released simultaneously throughout the world, with a complete English dub - a rare feature for such games. With these efforts, Sega looks to be able to reach out to new audiences, and a demo might be quite helpful.
8 playable Master System games from Lost Judgment have been shown
The psnrelease2 Twitter account (via GamesRadar) discovered what looked to be a Lost Judgment demo, dubbed "Lost Judgment: Unjudged Memory Trial Version." It was mentioned on the Japanese edition of PSN, indicating that it could be coming shortly. There are no further specifics about the demo yet, but it may allow players to try out the new detective elements in Lost Judgment before the game's formal release. That said, it's conceivable that this demo will be limited to that specific location. There has been no official statement as of yet, but considering the rapidly approaching release date of Lost Judgement, it seems probable that additional information will be disclosed shortly.

The possibility of a demo leak isn't the only concern the game has faced in the months leading up to its release. After word broke of a conflict between the agency representing actor Takuya Kimura - the voice and physical model for protagonist Takayuki Yagami - some speculated that Lost Judgment may be the series' final installment. Kimura's agency did not want him to feature in PC games for unknown reasons and intended to prevent Lost Judgement from being published on Steam.
Lost Judgment, on the other hand, will be a comparatively better and more sophisticated detective game than its series equivalent, according to the game's producer. Yagami will presumably have new tools and investigative methods, which the Lost Judgement team believes will balance the game's action and detective work. However, whether or not a demo will address some of these new areas remains to be seen.
Lost Judgment will be released on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One on September 24, 2021.
